About
Hi! I’m a visual artist and artist educator from the Netherlands.
As an artist, I explore the connection between place, time and memory with all senses engaged—on both a small and large scale. Through inky hands at the printing press, listening to bass tones in paper-thin porcelain pieces, drawing in my travel sketchbooks, and out on the streets with hands full of chalk dust.
As an educator, I seek to create space for children, students, and adults to think with their hands. To play and explore. I develop lesson programs rooted in the act of making.
With Stof tot Nadenken—a Dutch phrase that plays on both “matter for reflection” and “chalk dust”—I highlight the importance of visual arts education in primary schools. After graduating as an art teacher, I received the Audience Award and the Guts & Glory Challenge for this project during De Kunst van het Ontwerpen 2024.
